A major aqueduct being constructed near Gonur under the Upper Bhadra Project is an important infrastructure development for central Karnataka.
The aqueduct is approximately 1.94 km long and around 120 feet high. It is intended to help convey water towards lakes in areas including Chitradurga, Molakalmuru and Challakere.
The project is particularly important for drought-prone regions because improved water availability could support irrigation and strengthen agricultural activity.
