A major railway infrastructure development has been announced for Chitradurga district. Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti V. Somanna said that 33 railway overbridges and underpasses being taken up in the district are expected to be completed within the next eight to nine months.
The projects are expected to improve road-rail safety and reduce waiting times for motorists at railway crossings.
The development is being closely watched by residents because railway crossings are important transport points connecting villages, towns and major highways.
